Huddersfield Giants sack head coach Luke Robinson after five consecutive losses in opening weeks of Super League

Huddersfield Giants have sacked head coach Luke Robinson in the wake of Friday night's Betfred Super League defeat at Bradford which took them to five losses out of five this season.

Their loss left the Giants bottom of the table without a point from their first five matches, with a minus-82 scoring difference, and cost Robinson his position.

Huddersfield's director of change Ralph Rimmer told the club's website: "A fantastic man, Luke Robinson - a legend of this club and will remain so, but nevertheless this set of circumstances has brought about this change."

Huddersfield's game against Bradford saw a tight and tryless first half with the Bulls sitting narrowly ahead at just 4-2 by half time, but in the second half the home side pulled away to leave Huddersfield straggling behind.

Robinson became Giants boss for a second time in September 2024 after serving as interim head coach in 2020 before Ian Watson took on the role in 2021.

The club's director of rugby Andy Kelly will assume interim charge, starting with next Saturday's trip to Wigan Warriors while the club said they are seeking immediate expressions of interest to be sent to Kelly before March 28.

Your Site will again show every game of the Super League live this season - including two matches in each round exclusively live, with the remaining five matches each week shown on
